First show day has finally arrived and the Wagon is "done". Would you believe that not less than 30 minutes before the picture there was torrential downpours, while Kurt was arriving in the Wagon. And no, we had not leak tested the car fully before that! But she passed the test. Kurt says he couldn't see more thatn 30 feet in front of the car on parts of the drive up.

But she is shining for the show and everyone was impressed.

Kurt is showing off the Wagon to all who come out.

The photographer was too busy several times to take pictures of the large crowd that came out, but we did capture one visitor.

The engine bay is all cleaned up and shining, minus the water spots from the rainstorm.

Notice the flag reflection in the paint. That's a pretty good paint job! The flag motif Jeep is also ours and what the photographer drove to work that day, but that is another story.

The company photogapher captured a few pictures as well.

The trailer in the background belongs to the Chicken Choker's NHRA drag team. Kurt is a member of the pit crew.

The bike in the background left before the next rainstorm hit.

One of the other cars there that day, but had to leave before the rain started. It has no side glass.

Back home after the second rain storm Kurt had to remove all the water spots.

The wagon looks great with all the new chrome and refinished original stainless.

The gray tinted glass compliments the paint job and definitely puts this car in the hot rod category.

The passenger side. Remember that creased rear fender and "franken-door"? Can't tell those problems existed here.

The dark carpet really enhances the white vinyl and turquoise interior.

The driver door with the customized dark turquoise at the bottom.

The rear seat on the white base looks much better than if it had been on a black base. The look is well worth the extra time spent taping this off.

The seat shell finishes off the driver seat.

A better shot of the tailgate.

The linoleum dresses up the back of this wagon. Still saving towards that cargo stainless.

Overall interior the Ciadella interior looks sharp, especially with the custom touches.

The dash area is mostly stock, except for the small gage cluster mounted below for water temp and oil pressure.

A closeup of the customized visors.

The finished headliner, after a few hours sitting in the sun. It's a nice tight fit.

You can really see the difference the tinted glass makes on the glare.

And just for completeness, the passenger rear door.

The new rear stainless pieces for the tailgate from Madmooks.

And one last custom touch, the stainless for the tailgate hinges from Madmooks.

Both Betsy and the Wagon went the Sulley Plantation show in June 2015. I managed to get Kurt to pose by the Wagon.

The pair together at Sulley Plantation.

As soon as we could we took both '56s to the local cruise in at Burger King. (July 27, 2015)

The pair together again. "Beauty" and the "Beast". His and Hers. Or stock and hot rod. Any way you want to name them they definitely show off the love that went into the restorations.

The cruise in was busy that night, though we've been to busier where the grass back lot was also full.

The wagon drew lots of attention that day.

The turquoise really shows the fender birds. We originally tried them on Betsy's white fenders and they didn't look good against the white.

Unfortunately, this was to be the last cruise in for this summer. Life took over and we had to catch up on other projects at home. Then the wagon decided it needed more attention and broke the end off the oil dipstick. So first we have to fix that problem, but next summer should be a blast as we take both cars to shows and the wagon returns to the track for drag racing.

I drove the Wagon to the show at my work in Aug 2015.

We also attended a small nearby show in 2017.

Back to my work for the 2017 picnic.

She drew a little attention from the recent new hires.

The Olds went with us out to Burger King one evening.
And then in 2018 the Wagon was involved in a minor front end collision. Any more shows will have to wait until she is repaired.
